About Sam

Sam Polks (born Samuel Polkinghorne, 2006), is a music producer, electronic artist, multi-instrumentalist, DJ based in London, UK. Originally a classical pianist of 13 years, and a jazz saxophonist of 7 years, music has been a part of Sam’s life for as long as he can remember.

Originally a self-taught producer, Sam has over 5 years of experience writing and producing music. Growing up in Bristol, Sam became exposed to the underground dance music scene that the city is infamous for; which he describes “has a huge influence in the music I create”. Sam’s unique indie-electronic sound blends the UK’s dance music scene with mainstream bedroom-pop, Hip-Hop and EDM sounds that Sam grew up listening to.

Sam independently mixed, produced and released his debut album “19 Year Old Problems” on 20 February 2026. The album explores themes of teenage love, self-reflection, and coming of age, was originally written between 2024 and 2025, with Sam’s unique singing voice being heard on all nine tracks.

Originally a DJ at sixth-form house parties; Sam played his first ever club DJ set in one of South London’s most well-known nightclubs, the Brixton Jamm, in January 2026. His varied set included moments of UKG, Tech House, Dubstep, and Drum n Bass!

In September 2025, Sam moved to London to pursue his music career, with him currently studying Electronic and Produced Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
